Message :more about WHY the times were what they were. For one, it isn't even remotely easy to launch these cars especially when some of the key items on the market to make the cars launch better were absent on the car. Given more time that thing would be much quicker and I'd have hoped they'd do more driving with it :)

I did explain why the car did bad in the 1/4 mile. It was two things, the MAF was picking up turbulance form the larger hole in the nose that the JDM front end has making the car run pig rich on top end and loosing like 100 hp. 3 foot flames were coming out the exhaust pipes.

Second I am running a road racing extremly low enertia road racing small diameter twin disc clutch. This gives razor like throttle response which is good for road racing but makes the car so it cannot launch. This is explained in the article as well. The clutch give account of the miserable 2.6 second 60 foot time and the rich mixture, the laousy 118 mph trap speed.

I built a carbon air box and now the car runs clean at speed. The cars not a drag racer, so its never going to launch. If I wanted to optimize it for drag racing, I am sure it would do high 10's in full street trim and weight but those of you that actualy know me, know that I am heavily involved in road racing and always have been.

Mike
